Enchanting yatra at holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is at Trikuta hill, Katra. Vaishno Devi Shrine Board takes care of all the formalities for smooth yatra.

Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra is a holy shrine yatra at the top of Trikuta hill, Katra. The temple is at a height of 5200 feet and a journey of 12 km from Katra base camp to be completed to reach Bhawan. From Bhawan another 2 km journey to be taken to reach Bhairvnath temple.

Halfway to Bhawan, Ardh Kuwari temple is situated. Mata Vaishno Devi resides in a holy cave in a three-peaked mountain named Trikuta hill.

The holy shrine attracts millions of devotees every year, and the number of devotees visiting the shrine is increasing gradually and exceeding one crore annually. Unflinching faith of the devotees coming from all over India and abroad is the reason for coming such a large number of visitors.

Darshan of the Holy Shrine can be performed any time throughout the year. The Yatris are getting Darshans of mother Goddess inside the Sanctum Sanctorum-the Holy Cave. There are no idols or statues inside the cave, only Pindies, and three natural rock formations.

In 1986, Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is formed and the management and regulations of Yatra has been vested with the board. The Shrine Board has taken a number of developmental works for smooth Darshan to the Holy Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. The donations and offerings received are re-invested for improving Yatri facilities.
