It believed that these Satras are the stronghold of the new Vaishnava religion culture, first promoted by the Assamese saint Srimanta Sankardev and then later by his follower Madhavdev. It is not that only that Vaishnavism is propagated here, in fact, Majuli is also a stronghold of a classical dance form of India.

Each of the Satras has different characteristics and different things taught which are about the Assamese culture and traditions.
Kamalabari Satra is the most influential and prominent Satra of Majuli, while Oniyati Satra is famous for Palnam and Apsara dance.In other Satras, Benganati and Shamaguri Satra are also important.
You can say the weather of Majuli is unpredictable because the rainy season here is quite long. Temperature is high here, and the weather is very humid. However, the cold weather and cold wind is quite comfortable and winter, late autumn and spring are the beautiful times to visit and explore Majuli.
