Pooram is the largest temple festival in Kerala and it is considered that it is the oldest temple festival in the Indian subcontinent. The festival is dedicated to the Goddesses Durga or Kali held specifically in the Valluvanadu area.
Thrissur Pooram is an attractive one and attracts more than two million people every year. Thrissur Pooram is an important date for the devotees of Lord Vadakkunnathan, the presiding deity of Vadakkunnathan Temple of Thrissur.
