Rajasthan is always full of colors of fairs and festivals, that enchants the people who experience the festivals. Whether the festival is for praying for a healthy life of spouse, for good cultivation, or for bidding farewell to any season it is always very colorful and keeps a mark of their Art and Culture and affects the livelihood.
One such festival is Teej that falls during the monsoon in the month of July-August every year. The festival is organized in and around Rajasthan.
On this occasion, married women pray to Lord Shiva and Parvati. Colorful processions are carried out and women dance as per the tune of folk songs.
It is believed that on this day Parvati reunites Lord Shiva after a long separation. It is also believed that whoever worships Parvati on this day, is fortunate enough to fulfill their wishes
