Important Buddhist festival held every year in the month of June to cebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Padamsambhav. The festival is organised in Hemis Gompa in Ladakh, 45 Km away from Leh city.
Highlights of the festival are Cham dance and Unfurling of Thangakas (Buddhist paintings). The festival is observed with beats of drums and cynabols and tunes of long pipes like Tibetan musical instruments.
